The Perfect Address Label Printer
The Brother AL-560 Label Printer saves you money in the long run because it doesn’t cause you to waste address labels like the standard office printers do. This dedicated printer, the Brother Ql-560, also offers some new possibilities like printing on clear or colored film, printing a banner on a continuous label, date and time stamping, printing barcodes, and an address book that can import your email addresses from Outlook.
The QL-560 doesn’t need ribbon or toner because of its “direct thermal” technology and the speed is awesome. It can print up to 56 labels per minute and a typical address labels can be printed on an average of 36 per minute.
CD labels, other round labels and a variety of oblong die-cuts can be printed because the Brother QL-560 can take label stock up to 62mm wide. Clip-art pictures and half-tone images can be printed very well because of its 300 dpi but they can only be reproduced in monochrome. IF you are computer literate you can even go a step further and control things like the dither and “error diffusion” that will improve the image quality also.
This Brother QL-560 label printer uses the P-touch software to help you design your labels. This software has a great range of ready-made clip-art and other images. You also can add fancy fonts at different angels, borders, lines and circles that are decorative, mirror printing, ready-made calendar where you can earmark dates, tables, bar codes and even screen capture! All of these features can be easily added into any of the ready-made labels quick and easy.
You can have the P-touch icon to appear on the Word and Excel toolbars if you include this add-on during installation of the software. With this add-on it is so much easier to insert your text, etc by just a click of the P-touch icon. It is very easy!
The printer is so easy to use. There is an electric guillotine button for cutting the labels. The label roll can quickly be dropped into the printer as soon as you lift the cover. There is an advance button that will help you position the label. How easy is all that?
The P-touch software has toolbars and buttons that very similar to the Windows applications and their purposes are pretty evident. There is the default settings that make this software very easy to use and there is the more detailed settings that you can choose if you want to go into more difficult and complicated features.
The Brother QL-560 Label Printer comes with the P-touch Editor software, an user manual on CD, a label catch tray, a roller cleaning sheet, a USB lead, a mains power lead, and a storage box or carrying case that contains DK labels. Included in the labels are 100 standard address labels, 30 CD/DVD labels, 8 meters of 62mm continuous labels and 250 labels 24mm in diameter. This printer software will work with Windows 2000, XP and Vista.
